L2 Empuraan release date: When will Mohanlal's much anticipated action movie hit theatres

L2 Empuraan's trailer releases today

L2: Empuraan is just a few days away from its release, and the much-awaited Malayalam movie's trailer will be launched today at a grand event in Mumbai.

Director Prithviraj Sukumaran, along with Mohanlal, will unveil the trailer today ahead of the film's big release. L2 Empuraan, which is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer, is going to hit theaters on March 27, 2025.

Fans of Malayalam cinema and superstar Mohanlal have been eagerly waiting to see a glimpse of what the sequel has to offer.

L2: Empuraan is the second part of a three-movie series. The first movie was Lucifer, which was a huge success and raised the bar for Malayalam films.

With Murali Gopy at the helm of the script and a production team including Aashirvad Cinemas, Sree Gokulam Movies, and Lyca Productions, the movie is set to deliver a spectacular and unforgettable cinematic experience.

Lyca Productions' makes its debut in Malayalam cinema with L2 Empuraan. The move was originally announced in June 2019, but it faced production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But later Murali Gopy refined the screenplay, and then work began on it in 2022. The film officially went on floors on October 5, 2023, in Faridabad.

Storyline of L2 Empuraan

Superstar Mohanlal will reprise his role of Khureshi Ab'raam aka Stephen Nedumpally. The movie also boasts of an ensemble cast, including Prithviraj Sukumaran as Zayed Masood, Manju Warrier as Priyadarshini Ramdas, Abhimanyu Singh as Balraj, Tovino Thomas as Jathin Ramdas, Indrajith Sukumaran as Govardhan, and Game of Thrones actor Jerome Flynn and Eriq Ebouaney.

The film has been shot in different countries, including India, the UK, the US, and the UAE.

Director of Photography Sujith Vaassudev has worked extensively to capture the grandeur of the story, while Deepak Dev's music is set to enhance the film's intense narrative.

In a first for Malayalam cinema, Empuraan will be released in both normal and IMAX formats.

The teaser had only given behind-the-scenes updates that have only added to the fans excitement.

Empuran and Mohanlal fans are eager to see how the saga unfolds in L2: Empuraan. Given the super success of Lucifer, expectations are high from the sequel.
