Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon is gearing up for the highly anticipated sequel, Cocktail 2, and has just increased the excitement of the fans with a latest update on the project as well as a behind-the-scenes image.

Director Homi Adajania has recently taken to his Instagram and shared the much-awaited photo, confirming Kriti’s casting in the film. However, Kriti also re-shared the photo on her social media, giving fans a peek into her preparation journey.

The  black-and-white portrait of Kriti Sanon was shared with the caption, “@kritisanon Laugh & love #cocktail2 #prep.” The pic also featured a sticker that read “Work In Progress.” Kriti re-shared the photo to her Instagram Story with the caption, “Getting there... One step at a time.” The photo instantly went viral on social media, creating a buzz among the fans.

Further details of Cocktail 2 are currently under wraps. However, the initial reports have suggested that Rashmika Mandanna and Shahid Kapoor will star in the lead roles.

Following the success of Cocktail in 2012, Homi Adajania returns to the franchise with Cocktail 2, which is written by Luv Ranjan. The upcoming film will be backed by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films. Although the plot is still unknown, the film's creators plan to release it in theatres in the second half of 2026.

The original Cocktail featured Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty in the lead roles. The film revolves around Veronica, who welcomes her boyfriend Gautam and her new friend Meera into her home. Though they are happy for a while, their lives get complicated when Gautam falls in love with Meera.

On the work front, Kriti Sanon has a busy lineup ahead. She is also gearing up to star in another most-awaited sequel, Aanand L Rai’s Tere Ishq Mein, alongside Dhanush. She is also reported to play a lead role in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3.
