KBC 17 to replace CID 2; show likely to go off-air: Report

There were some new actors that came on board as well in the form of Parth Samthaan as ACP Ayushman.

After having a long run on television, CID marked its return. The original show ran for 20 years. The second season started last year (2024) and so far, the fans of the show have been thoroughly enjoying every episode.

Shivaji Satam, Dayanan Shetty and many other established actors have made their return in their iconic roles.

There were some new actors that came on board as well in the form of Parth Samthaan as ACP Ayushman.

The story was narrated such that there was a mole in the team who was helping Barboza and once ACP Pradyuman returned, the person was caught in the form of Dr. Salunkhe. With Ayushman leaving after this task, the publication stated that Janvi Chheda and Shraddha Musale joined in the characters of Shreya and Tarika.

It was a while ago that there were rumours about CID 2 going off air.

According to a report in Bollywood Life, the show might be pulled off air because it is unable to generate the required TRPs. The show introduced a number of plot twisters but things are not working in their favour it seems.

While the decision is yet to be taken, as per reports and the talks are on internally, CID 2 is doing well on the OTT platform SonyLIV. Even Netflix is getting them a good response. According to the same reports, it suggests that these are the factors why the decision of CID 2 going off air might change.

On the other hand, Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 will premiere soon and there are chances that the plug on CID 2 may be pulled after the KBC 17 commences.
