Director Prashanth Neel and Jr NTR's upcoming film has been making headlines for all the right reasons. The film has recently completed its first schedule and is heading to the second one. As per the latest report, the makers are looking at a change in the title.

Why the title change?

As per an article published in Pinkvilla, it is said that the title Dragon has already been registered for the 2025 Tamil release and the movie has been simultaneously dubbed into the Telugu language. This is something that would be a real cause of concern for the makers, given that Jr NTR has an enviable fan base in the Telugu-speaking regions.

“Being light on marketing, releasing two films with the same title when one is already having a run in both Tamil and Telugu can lead to total confusion among fans and audiences. Also, legal regulations prevent titles from being duplicated in a short period,” the source mentioned.

The makers, who have Mythri Movie Makers among the crew, are said to be going slow to carve a unique branding for the movie that will be felt across various markets.

Looking for a new, major title

Featuring Jr NTR in the lead, and directed by KGF and Salaar director Prashanth Neel, the anticipation is huge. The makers are in search of a title that can do justice to the scale and ambition of the project.

While the working title Dragon sparked curiosity and ignited social media trends, the team behind the movie is working toward sealing a name that captures the scale of the film and is legally and commercially suitable. An official title announcement will be coming in the next few weeks for the fans, he said.

Jr NTR's fans are meanwhile waiting for an update on this Prashanth Neel film that he is part of, Jr NTR is shooting for War 2 at the moment, in which he shares screen space with Hrithik Roshan. Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, the spy action-thriller is one of the most awaited movies from the YRF Spy Universe list and is scheduled for an August 14 2025, release. The movie also stars Kiara Advani as the female lead.
