Wicked co-stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande have received exciting news — both were officially nominated for awards at the 68th Grammy Awards. Their reactions to the announcement, captured during a press event, have since gone viral for all the right reasons.
The two stars were in Paris on Friday, November 7, attending the Wicked: For Good press tour when they learned that their movie version of “Defying Gravity” had earned a nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 2026 Grammys.
The powerful song, led by Erivo’s character Elphaba and featuring Grande’s Glinda, is one of the film’s most anticipated musical moments.
Adding to the joy, Cynthia Erivo also received a separate Grammy nomination for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella for “Be Okay,” a standout song from her second studio album I Forgive You. The moment turned even more emotional as Erivo and Grande, joined by director Jon M. Chu, erupted in excitement upon hearing the news.
