Shruti Sharma made headlines with her pivotal role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Netflix series, 'Heeramandi'. While the series received mixed reactions from people across the nation and neighbouring countries, the stars received a lot of love for their acting in 'Heeramandi'. Shruti played the role of a maid in the show and created a lot of buzz with her acting calibre. However, not many know that Shruti Sharma was mocked on national television when she participated in the reality show, 'India's Next Superstar'.

However, during one episode, a contestant had made derogatory remarks about her physique and also highlighted that she is not fit to become a glamorous actress.

While Shruti kept her calm and continued giving her best performance on the show, it was Kangana Ranaut who had then appeared as a guest on the show, came out in her support and said all these remarks are baseless.
A part of the video has been going viral on the internet; a Redditor shared it on the discussion platform. In the clip, the hosts highlight the incident when some contestants on the show thought that Sharma needed a makeover. However, it was Kangana Ranaut who expressed how these things don't matter. She added that Sharma should work on her craft, polish her skills, and not worry about the narrow beauty standards.

Netizens hailed Shruti and her achievements in the acting field. While some even praised Kangana for inspiring Shruti on national television and giving her the right advice on not to listen to chitter-chatter. Some questioned how those who won the show never got their films released by Karan Johar. One user also wrote, "The winners of this show were given some 3 film deal with Dharma. Where are those movies now Karan."

For the unversed, in the Netflix series, Shruti is playing the role of a maid, she was involved in a clandestine affair with Rajat. In the series, Shruti seduced her on-screen partner in the horse shed. During a media interaction, Shruti had revealed that the intimate scene with Rajat Kaul was shot for a whole day, and she got rashes on her body due to dust and dirt. She was quoted as saying:

"There is a scene involving me and Iqbal in which we are romantic, meaning it’s a very romantic scene. That type of romance I had done for the first time on the screen. We were rolling and we were talking, and you know it was difficult choreography, we were on top of each other. I got rashes on my body because it was so harsh. I think we shot that scene for one whole day and when that scene got over, my kajal was smudged because there was dust and dirt. But the scene looks so beautiful."
