Bollywood actress Shruti Sharma, who played the role of Saima in the hit web series 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar', has expressed her deepest concern over the trolling of Sharmin Segal.

Sharmin was seen as Alamzeb in the series, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The actress was trolled by netizens, who called her expressionless in the show.

The users had expressed their disappointment with the choice of Sharmin Segal to play the role of Alamzeb in the series, which opened to mixed reactions.

Shruti said such comments from faceless trolls amount to mental harassment and that she is very worried for Shamin.

In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Shruti Sharma said: "I don’t know what audiences have liked or not liked about Sharmin, but I’ve seen her trying her best like everyone else on the sets. It doesn’t matter who’s being trolled, but trolling is a bad thing to do. Criticism is one thing; healthy criticism is always welcome, but trolling is unacceptable. It is a very negative way of approaching anyone. It is a kind of mental harassment. I am very concerned about her right now."

Recently, Pakistani doctor Hamd criticized Sharmin's acting and called her 'expressionless.'

She tweeted: “Abhi to, I’m not even touching the nepo-baby going around with a frozen face, lip fillers, and expressionless, rote Urdu. Plot, dialogue delivery, and song selection are other rant-worthy domains. Indian cinema has given us masterpieces. Imagine having all this budget and no research.”
