British singer Ed Sheeran, renowned for hits like Shape of You, Perfect, and Shivers, delighted fans once again by jamming to the popular Telugu song Chuttamalle alongside Indian singer Shilpa Rao during his Bengaluru concert.
The Grammy-winning artist, who performed his second consecutive show in the city on Sunday night, shared a video of himself singing the Telugu lyrics of the song, originally performed by Rao for the 2024 film Devara, starring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor.
Commending Shilpa Rao, the voice behind hits like Malang, Besharam Rang, and Bulleya, Ed Sheeran took to Instagram to express his appreciation. "Obsessed with @shilparao’s voice for the last while, a real privilege to share the stage tonight, and learn a new language."
The song Chuttamalle, composed by Anirudh Ravichander with lyrics by Ramajogayya Sastry, received a special moment on stage as Shilpa Rao and Ed Sheeran performed it together. Janhvi Kapoor was delighted to witness the rendition of her song. "What a crossover to wake up to," she wrote on her Instagram Stories with a heart emoji.

While Jr NTR also joined in the excitement by sharing the video on his Instagram Stories and wrote, "Music has no boundaries and you proved it again Ed! Hearing you sing ’Chuttamalle’ in Telugu is truly special @teddysphotos @anirudhofficial @shilparao."

Ed Sheeran is currently in India for the ongoing leg of his Mathematics (+-=÷x) Tour, which kicked off on January 30 in Pune. During his Chennai concert, the singer-songwriter created a memorable moment by performing a mash-up of Shape of You and Urvasi Urvasi alongside music maestro A.R. Rahman, earning thunderous applause from the crowd. Sheeran's India tour will wrap up on February 15 with a final performance in Delhi-NCR.
