Diljit Dosanjh parts ways with long-time manager Sonali Singh: Here’s all you need to know

Popular Punjabi singer and international icon Diljit Dosanjh has ended his professional relationship with his long-time manager Sonali Singh. The news, although shared subtly by Dosanjh, has sent ripples across the music industry and among fans who closely followed the duo’s decade-long journey together. Their partnership, spanning ten years, played a vital role in shaping Diljit’s global image, making this split both unexpected and significant.

While neither party has publicly disclosed the exact reasons behind the separation, industry insiders suggest that the split wasn't entirely amicable. According to a spokesperson from The Hollywood Reporter India, “This is a big shock for people who follow Diljit’s journey. They’ve had a falling out, and it’s evident from the fact that Sonali no longer follows him on Instagram or manages his work.” This subtle yet telling detail has confirmed the end of an era for one of the most successful artist-manager relationships in Indian music.

Sonali Singh had been instrumental in navigating Diljit Dosanjh’s meteoric rise from a Punjabi superstar to a globally recognized performer. Their journey began in 2016 when Singh, despite having limited experience in Punjabi music, joined Dosanjh as his brand manager. Her career, however, was already diverse and dynamic even before she met the singer.
Born and raised in Delhi, Sonali began her education at New Lancers Convent and later pursued a diploma in aviation and hospitality from Rai Foundation while simultaneously completing her commerce degree from CCS University. She started her professional journey in 2007 as a business development manager at the Asian Business School. Her career then evolved through various corporate and entertainment roles, ultimately leading her to the world of music management.

It was her strategic vision and relentless dedication that contributed significantly to Diljit’s global acclaim. In 2024, Sonali was recognized on the Billboard Women in Music list, a testament to her influence in the global entertainment space. In an emotional interview following this honor, she credited Diljit for much of her success, stating, “None of this would have been possible without my best friend and incredible human, Diljit Dosanjh... everything I could do is because of you.”

Over the years, Sonali not only managed his professional engagements but also became the face behind many of his successful tours and collaborations. From sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes content to promoting his brand internationally, she played a crucial role in shaping the public image of the singer.
