As the countdown to BTS’s long-awaited reunion ticks away, anticipation and excitement are building across the globe. With RM and V scheduled for discharge on June 10 and 11, and Jimin and Jungkook already back, the final pieces of the puzzle are falling into place. SUGA is set to return on June 21, officially bringing all seven members back together after nearly three years apart. For fans, this June marks more than just a reunion—it’s the start of BTS’s next chapter.
But just weeks before this historic moment, a cloud of controversy has cast a shadow over the celebrations. On May 22, fans noticed that HYBE’s Yongsan headquarters had removed BTS’s iconic slogan, “BTS PRESENTS EVERYWHERE,” and replaced it with one promoting SEVENTEEN: “SEVENTEEN WILL CHALLENGE ETERNITY.”
This sudden change—so close to BTS’s return and during their signature "Purple Month"—sparked outrage across social media. ARMYs swiftly voiced their frustration, accusing HYBE of prioritizing other acts over BTS and even appropriating a concept originally linked to RM’s 10th anniversary FESTA idea.
"That's so disgusting, I don't care abt anything, but here HYBE labels stole Namjoon's idea," one user tweeted. Another lamented, "It was Namjoon's unique idea to display afbf on the HYBE building. It's been done on a building built by BTS' success, on BTS' personal request." A third added bluntly, "HYBE better rip off that SVT label before June starts."
The slogan swap came off as more than just poor timing to many fans—it felt personal. "So HYBE replaced 'BTS represents everywhere' with a slogan for a group that wouldn't even be here without BTS opening the doors?" one user questioned. Others rallied behind the importance of BTS’s legacy being honored, especially now. "This better be gone by June 1st like that's purple month," another ARMY urged.

The controversy stems from SEVENTEEN’s own milestone: their 10th anniversary, coming up on May 26, 2025. The new banner is part of a promotional campaign tied to that celebration. CARATs, SEVENTEEN’s fans, defended the move. One commented, “Seventeen has always done this when they release a new album. Now that they're part of HYBE, it just happens to take place in that building. They're not offending or disrespecting anyone.” Another said, “Chill guys, it's their Anniversary coming—calm down.”
