Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has recently created history by becoming the first Indian artist to sell out an entire stadium in Sydney. He captivated the live audience with his songs on the global stage. He has been in Australia as part of his world tour, AURA.
However, now everyone has showered love on Diljit. The singer has recently admitted that he faced racism and was even called an ‘Uber driver’.
Fans were shocked to hear that the Punjabi singer was the target of racist remarks after arriving in Australia, despite the show's enormous success.
Diljit Dosanjh recalled that after he landed in Australia, paparazzi uploaded pictures of him to the internet, but the comment section was filled with racist comments.
In a recent behind-the-scenes video uploaded on the official YouTube channel of Diljit Dosanjh, he is heard saying in Punjabi, “Some agencies reported when I landed in Australia. Someone sent me the comments people were making. People said things like, The new Uber driver is here, or the new 7-11 employee has landed. I’ve seen a lot of these racist comments, but I think the world should be one and there should be no borders.”
Dijit went on to say that if they don't mind being likened to truck or taxi drivers, then none of us will have bread for our homes if they disappear.
He added that he doesn't feel angry and even sends love to people who have made disparaging remarks about him.
He added, “I don’t mind being compared to a cab or truck driver. If truck drivers cease to exist, you won’t get bread for your home. I’m not angry, and my love goes out to everyone, even the ones who say things like that about me.”
