Diljit Dosanjh has recently created history by becoming the first Indian artist to perform in Melbourne, playing to a packed AAMI Park stadium.
The concert, which was a part of his historic AURA Tour, featured his upbeat performances and a fusion of modern pop and hip-hop influences with traditional Punjabi music.
The singer has recently admitted that he faced racism when he landed in Australia for his concert. He revealed that he was called ‘Uber driver’.
Diljit Dosanjh responded to trolls who made fun of him following a widely shared Australian airport video with a passionate and ferocious tirade during his sold-out Melbourne performance.
During the concert, he gave a befitting reply to the racist comments. He shared that an English channel shared his video, and several people called him ‘cab driver’ and ‘7-Eleven worker’ in the comment section.
Slamming the critics, he said, “Saade bandeya ne ethe mehnat kiti aa.. ajj saare gore kumm te laaye hoye aa! (The poor man has worked hard here..”
His remarks were not only a welcome return but also a proud reminder of how Indians and Punjabis have gained respect overseas via diligence and hard work
Fans are applauding Diljit for standing tall and representing his community with dignity and class as the video of this moment goes viral on social media.
Despite threats from a pro-Khalistani group, Diljit performed throughout Australia, including Melbourne, during Sikh Genocide Remembrance Month, reiterating his message of love and unity.
Diljit Dosanjh became the first Indian performer to sell out a stadium performance in Sydney, Australia, with his AURA tour. With prices as high as 800 USD, all of the tickets for Diljit's performance were sold out.
Nearly 30,000 fans attended Diljit's performance, which was a significant turning point in the global recognition of Indian music.
