Alia Bhatt is an idol to many fans who aim to achieve fitness levels like her. Celebrity nutritionist and fat-loss expert Dr Siddhant Bhargava, who has worked with many stars including Alia Bhatt, has explained the secret to lasting weight loss.
He says it isn’t possible with any fad, but is rooted in one simple concept of calorie deficit.
In a YouTube video, Dr Bhargava breaks down the science of weight loss, and explains that the body begins burning stored fat for energy when it doesn’t get enough calories from food. “Your body requires continuous energy to function. When you consume fewer calories than you burn, it draws that energy from your fat reserves,” he explains. This process leads to gradual and sustainable fat loss.
He points out that every diet, whether it’s keto, intermittent fasting, or low-carb, only works if it creates a calorie deficit. “The mechanism behind all diets is the same,” he says. “The moment your calorie intake goes below your daily energy requirement, your body starts burning fat.”

A calorie deficit can be achieved in different ways, through portion control, smarter food choices, or increased physical activity. Dr Bhargava emphasises that sustainability matters more than intensity. “Choose a method that fits your lifestyle and something you can follow consistently,” he says.
On the work front, Alia will soon be seen in the spy thriller Alpha that marks the first female-led entry in the YRF Spy Universe.
The film is slated to release in theatres on December 25, 2025, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Besides she also has the historical drama Love & War slated for 2026, and the second installment of the Brahmastra series.
