Shah Rukh Khan to make a cameo in Alia Bhatt’s Alpha? Here's what we know

Yash Raj Films is gearing up to expand its Spy Universe with Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari.

According to Bollywood Hungama, Aditya Chopra has personally approached Shah Rukh Khan to make a cameo in the film. The cameo is reportedly designed to set up Pathaan 2.

The report states that Shah Rukh, who is currently busy shooting his upcoming film King, is considering the offer. “At the moment, Pathaan is the most talked-about character of the Spy Universe. Aditya Chopra has picked up the call on Shah Rukh Khan to make a cameo in Alpha. He has designed a special part for him, which leads to Pathaan 2. Shah Rukh Khan has asked for some time to think it over, as he has already allotted bulk dates to King,” a source was quoted saying.

Aditya Chopra has reportedly requested that Shah Rukh allocate three to four days of shooting in early November for the cameo. If scheduling conflicts remain, the superstar may instead appear in an end-credit sequence.

Additionally, the source hinted that Salman Khan could also be approached to reprise his role as Tiger, but only if the cameo’s impact matches the one he had in Pathaan.

The YRF Spy Universe, which started with the Tiger films but truly gained momentum with Shah Rukh’s Pathaan in 2023, has seen a mix of box office results in recent years. While the initial films were hits, Tiger 3 underperformed and War 2 flopped, raising concerns about the franchise’s future.

Alpha marks the first female-led entry in the Spy Universe and is directed by Shiv Rawail. The film is slated to release in theatres on December 25, 2025, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Shah Rukh’s King, directed by Siddharth Anand, has already begun filming and features an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Abhay Verma.

With the potential inclusion of Pathaan in Alpha, YRF appears keen on reigniting fan excitement and reinforcing the interconnected Spy Universe ahead of the film’s festive release.
