Congress MP Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination on April 3 for a second successive Lok Sabha term from Wayanad in Kerala constituency. He won the seat with a record margin of 431,770 votes in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls by defeating his nearest rival PP Suneer of the Communist Party of India.
According to the affidavit filed, Gandhi owns assets worth over Rs 20 crore. The Congress leader has stock market investments of Rs 4.3 crore, mutual fund deposits of Rs 3.81 crore, and Rs 26.25 lakh in a bank account. Additionally, he declared Rs 55,000 in cash and a total income of Rs 1.02 crore for the financial year 2022-23.

The movable assets of Rahul Gandhi are valued at Rs 9.24 crore, including gold bonds worth Rs 15.2 lakh. Also, he has investments in National Savings Schemes, Postal Savings, insurance policies, and other ventures totaling Rs 61.52 lakh. Rahul Gandhi's total assets amount to Rs 20 crore, with an annual income exceeding Rs 1 crore. He also declared joint ownership of agricultural land with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Delhi’s Mehrauli, along with office space in Gurugram valued at Rs 11 crore. Rahul Gandhi also has a liability of about Rs 49.7 lakh.
“Wayanad is my home, and the people of Wayanad are my family. From them, I have learned a great deal over the last five years and received an abundance of love and affection. It is with great pride and humility that I file my nomination for Lok Sabha 2024 once again from this beautiful land,” said Gandhi on the social media platform X.
Gandhi also has 18 criminal cases pending against him. These include a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) for allegedly disclosing the identity of family members of a rape victim in a social media post.
This time, Gandhi is up against CPI leader Annie Raja and state BJP chief K Surendran in the high-profile contest scheduled for April 26.
Raja has also listed movable assets worth Rs 97,978. The value of immovable assets listed by her has been put at Rs 71.68 lakh. Annie Raja’s husband D Raja, general secretary of the CPI, also has Rs 9.09 lakh in bank.
