Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) [Shiv Sena (UBT)] secured victories in 9 constituencies in the recent Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra. The state is the second-largest in the country in terms of Lok Sabha constituencies, with 48 seats.

In these elections, voter turnout in the state was recorded at 61.33%, which was only slightly higher than the turnout in 2019.

In June 2022, a revolt led by Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde resulted in a vertical split within the party. Shiv Sena (UBT) lost its party name and symbol because of the split. Together with the Congress and Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party, it formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance in Maharashtra, which has in total won 30 out of 48 seats in the state.

In these elections, Shiv Sena (UBT) has notably dominated the Mumbai region, securing victories in three out of six seats in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

In Mumbai South Central, the location of the Shiv Sena (UBT) headquarters, Anil Desai emerged victorious from the Shiv Sena (UBT), defeating Shiv Sena's Rahul Shewale by 53,384 votes. Similarly, in Mumbai South, Shiv Sena (UBT) nominee Arvind Sawant secured a win by defeating Shiv Sena's Yamini Jadhav with a margin of 52,673 votes.
