In what could be a massive gain for the BJP-led NDA in Andhra Pradesh, News18's Mega Opinion Poll has predicted 18 seats for BJP-led NDA in the state for the upcoming general election. The Poll has also given 7 seats to Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP).
Recently, the TDP, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Jana Sena Party (JSP) have come to an agreement to share seats in Andhra Pradesh for the upcoming elections.
In the 2014 general elections, YSRCP had won 22 seats, and TDP 3. BJP had registered a historic mandate in the last elections, winning 282 seats - an absolute majority in the Lok Sabha. The Congress was reduced to its worst-ever tally, winning only 44.
According to the arrangement, the BJP will run for six parliamentary seats, while the TDP and JSP will seek 17 and two seats, respectively. In the assembly elections, the BJP will vie for 10 seats, the TDP for 144 seats, and the JSP for 21 seats.
Jaganmohan Reddy led YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) swept to power in Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections 2019 with a landslide victory. Out of 175-Assembly seats, the party bagged 151 seats.
Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP finished a distant second with 23 Assembly and three Lok Sabha seats. Actor Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party (JSP), which made the electoral debut in Lok Sabha elections 2019, bagged one Assembly seat.

The upcoming 2024 polls will witness the three parties contesting together for the first time, marking a departure from the 2014 scenario where TDP and BJP allied, with Jana Sena as an external supporter.
