The Mahindra XEV 9S has a claimed real-world range of 500km.
Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the XEV 9S, its new electric seven-seater SUV, at a starting price of Rs 19.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Like the BE 6 and the XEV 9e, the XEV 9S is built ground-up on the INGLO platform and designed to offer maximised cabin and luggage space. Bookings will open on January 14, 2026, with deliveries beginning on January 23, 2026.
Mahindra XEV 9S: A new electric flagship in the seven-seater space
The XEV 9S becomes Mahindra's first electric-origin, three-row SUV developed on the INGLO architecture. The BE 6 and the XEV 9e are five-seater models. The new electric SUV will be available in six variants, with prices going up to Rs 29.45 lakh for the fully-loaded Pack Three Above 79kWh model. Mahindra is offering the SUV with three battery pack options -- 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh -- and power outputs ranging from 170kW to 210kW depending on variant.

Mahindra XEV 9S: Platform, performance and battery
The XEV 9S uses the INGLO platform with a choice of LFP battery packs and a claimed real-world range of 500km. The SUV supports fast charging, with 20-80% top-ups taking 20 minutes. Power output stands at 210kW for the 79kWh pack, 180kW for the 70kWh pack, and 170kW for the 59kWh pack.
Other key hardware includes i-Link intelligent adaptive dampers, a 5-link rear suspension, brake-by-wire with IEB and high-power steering with variable gear ratio.
Mahindra XEV 9S: Design and cabin
According to Mahindra, the SUV delivers the biggest cabin space of 4,076 litres in its segment and a maximum boot capacity of 527 litres. It also offers 150 litres of frunk space, a 50:50 split third-row seat and premium interior materials in higher variants.
The second row includes features such as powered Boss Mode, ventilated seats, sunshades, sliding and reclining seats, an acoustic laminated glass area and a Lounge Desk in select variants.
Mahindra XEV 9S: Features and technology
The XEV 9S is equipped with
three 12.3-inch interior displays, 5G connectivity and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos (Pack Two Above). It uses Qualcomm chipsets, including the 8295 Snapdragon processor on the top-end Pack Three Above.

Other features include the VisionX AR-HUD, Secure 360 camera system with live view and recording, dual wireless charging, ambient lighting with 16 million colours, AutoPark Assist, driver drowsiness detection (Eyedentity DOMS) and connectivity features under Mahindra's Me4U app.
Mahindra XEV 9S: ADAS and safety
The
electric SUV offers up to Level 2+ ADAS, using five radars and one camera. Safety equipment includes seven airbags, driver knee airbag, blind-spot detection, front and rear cross-traffic alerts, lane centring, driver-initiated auto lane change, cornering lamps and auto booster lamps.
Performance-focussed figures include a 0-100kmph acceleration in 7 seconds, 202kmph top speed and a 10-metre turning circle. The XEV 9S boasts a ground clearance of 205mm, while the battery ground clearance is 222mm.
Mahindra XEV 9S: Production
The XEV 9S will be manufactured at Mahindra's Chakan plant. Existing operational capacity of electric origin SUVs (BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S) stands at 5,000 units per month, with a ramp-up planned to 8,000 units per month, and total capacity to increase to 1,20,000 units annually by the end of FY26.
Mahindra has allocated an additional Rs 2,000 crore for the XEV 9S (including BE 6 Formula E Edition), taking cumulative investment into the electric origin SUVs programme to Rs 6,500 crore.
