Tata Motors has launched the 2025 Tata Sierra in India, with the Tata Sierra 2025 price starting at Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory). Bookings for the SUV open on December 16, and customer deliveries begin on January 15, 2026. The Tata Sierra 2025 launch price positions it in the heart of the mid-size SUV market.
The Tata Sierra 2025 price list covers seven variants -- Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished and Accomplished+. Smart+ is the entry point, while Accomplished+ sits at the top.

The SUV offers multiple powertrain options. A new 1.5-litre Hyperion T-GDi turbo-petrol engine comes with an automatic torque converter. Another new 1.5-litre Revotron naturally aspirated petrol motor is available with both manual and DCA choices. The 1.5-litre Kryojet diesel mill continues with manual and automatic torque converter options. This spread gives buyers a wide range of choices across the 2025 Tata Sierra price in India.

At the launch, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles MD and CEO Shailesh Chandra recalled the legacy of the original Sierra. "It was designed to standout, a bold silhouette. It introduced features unheard of at that time. It was created with a belief that India should not settle for average... Today, the legend returns. It has been reengineered for the world we live in. We brought it back because the values that created it are more relevant right now. Premiumisation is at the core of the new Sierra... Design with emotion, legacy and that connects with identity is important right now," he said.

Tata Motors Chief Design Officer Martin Uhlarik highlighted the emotional link behind the new model. "The old Sierra was an avatar for what India and Tata could be. It was an aspiration for a whole generation. It had a very stable, classic design... The new car was a set of principles and ideas. Good design is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration," he said.

With the 2025 Tata Sierra launch, the SUV joins the Punch, Nexon, Curvv, Harrier and Safari in the company's portfolio. It enters the mid-size SUV segment dominated by the Hyundai Creta and competing with the Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Mahindra Thar Roxx, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor. Tata's own Curvv also operates in this space, but the company is positioning the new Sierra as a premium mid-size option.

The Sierra is built on Tata's new ARGOS architecture. The company conducted a car-to-car crash test at 50kmph with four occupants in each vehicle. Six airbags and an electronic parking brake are standard. ADAS Level 2+ with 22 functions is also available. Tata says the Sierra gets the largest panoramic sunroof in its class.

In terms of design, the SUV revisits the original Sierra's three-quarter glass concept in a modern format. You get flush glass panels, a contrasting black roof band and full-LED lighting. A full-width Light Saber-style LED DRL marks the front, while an LED bar spans the rear. The SUV includes 19-inch alloy wheels, flush door handles, black cladding, a clamshell-style tailgate and a floating-roof look.

Inside, the Sierra features Tata's Theatre Pro end-to-end three-screen setup, including Horizon View displays for the driver and passenger. The Sonic Shaft soundbar is paired with a 12-speaker JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos. Large windows and the panoramic sunroof recreate the original Sierra's bright, airy cabin feel. Natural tones, ambient lighting and minimal metallic accents complete the interior theme.

Key features include full-LED lighting, a piano black grille and a gesture-controlled powered tailgate. Six colours are available -- Bengal Rouge, Coorg Clouds, Munnar Mist, Pristine White, Pure Grey and Andaman Adventure. The interior uses soft-touch materials on the dashboard, firmer plastics on the door pads, ventilated front seats, power-adjustable front seats with memory for the driver, wireless charging, dual-zone FATC, a cooled glove box, floating armrests and an auto-dimming IRVM.
Several interior elements, such as the steering wheel and climate control cluster, are shared with Tata's larger SUVs. Adjustable thigh support for front seats and a flat rear floor improve comfort and practicality. Rear passengers get generous headroom and legroom.
The Tata Sierra price in India currently applies only to internal combustion variants. The electric version of the Sierra is set to launch early next year.
