White House unveils 'Presidential walk of fame' featuring autopen for Biden | Watch

Trump snubs Biden with autopen photo on new Presidential Walk of Fame

The White House unveiled a “Presidential Walk of Fame” along the West Wing Colonnade, displaying portraits of US presidents, with a notable exception for President Joe Biden. Instead of a traditional portrait, Biden is represented by a framed photo of an autopen signing his name.

“The Presidential Walk of Fame has arrived on the West Wing Colonnade,” wrote Margo Martin, special assistant to the president and communications adviser, in a post on X. A video accompanying her post shows black-and-white portraits of past presidents in gold frames, but between Donald Trump’s portraits as the 45th and 47th president sits the image of a machine, not a man.

The autopen, a device used to replicate signatures on official documents, has been employed by presidents from both parties. Trump and his allies have frequently seized on Biden’s use of the device to question his cognitive abilities and suggest aides were making major decisions on his behalf, including pardons. Biden and former aides who have testified before Congress have strongly rejected those claims.

The display comes amid Trump’s ongoing efforts to mock and undercut Biden. At the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, he continued to criticize his predecessor and has never acknowledged losing the 2020 election, falsely citing voter fraud.

Trump had previously indicated he would represent Biden with an autopen. In a recent interview with The Daily Caller, he said, “We’ll put up a picture of the autopen."

According to CNN, Trump has long focused on Biden’s autopen use and, in June, ordered an investigation into it, citing concerns over Biden’s “cognitive decline." At the time, Biden stated: “Let me be clear: I made the decisions during my presidency. I made the decisions about the pardons, executive orders, legislation, and proclamations. Any suggestion that I didn’t is ridiculous and false."

Biden’s spokesperson has not commented on the new display. Trump has previously relocated portraits of other presidents, including Barack Obama and George W. Bush, and even replaced former first lady Hillary Clinton’s portrait with one of himself.
