White House launches pro-Trump news site to bypass media.

The Trump administration has unveiled a new website designed to highlight news stories that cast President Donald Trump in a positive light.

Dubbed “White House Wire,” the site mimics the layout of the Drudge Report and features a stream of headlines linking to pro-Trump articles. It is part of a broader strategy by the White House to bypass mainstream media channels and establish a direct line to supporters.

“THE MOST SUCCESSFUL FIRST 100 DAYS IN PRESIDENTIAL HISTORY,” read a banner headline on the site Tuesday evening, linking to a Fox News article. Other stories included: “Border shutdown tops list of Trump’s successes at 100 days” from the Washington Times, and a Newsweek op-ed by Senator Roger Marshall titled “The President's First 100 Days Is a Return to American Greatness.” A ticker at the top of the site read, “24/7 FOURTY-SEVEN.”

The White House under Trump has frequently clashed with mainstream outlets over unfavourable coverage, even revoking AP’s access after the outlet refused to adopt the term “Gulf of America” in place of the “Gulf of Mexico.”

While the Drudge Report, once friendly to conservatives, has grown increasingly critical of Trump in recent years, the White House Wire appears designed to offer a more loyal alternative.

“It’s a place for supporters of the president’s agenda to get the real news all in one place in a shareable and readable format,” a White House official told Axios. “The website will be a one-stop shop for news and is part of the Trump administration’s effort to provide transparency and institute policies that put America first,” the official added.
