US President Donald Trump on Sunday came down hard on illegal immigrant offenders after the brutal killing of Chandra Mouli “Bob” Nagamallaiah, an Indian-origin motel manager in Dallas, Texas.
Nagamallaiah, 50, was allegedly beheaded in front of his wife and son by co-worker Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, a 37-year-old Cuban national with a violent criminal record. The incident has sparked outrage and renewed debate over immigration enforcement.
On his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote:
“I am aware of the terrible reports regarding the murder of Chandra Nagamallaiah… by an ILLEGAL ALIEN from Cuba who should have never been in our Country.”
“Illegal immigrant criminals will face full justice”
Trump declared that the accused would face the harshest charges available.
“This criminal, who we have in custody, will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law. He will be charged with murder in the first degree,” Trump said, stressing that under his administration, “the time for being soft on these Illegal Immigrant Criminals is OVER.”
Accused had violent past, but was released
Cobos-Martinez, according to Trump, had a long history of serious crimes including child sex abuse, grand theft auto, and false imprisonment.
Despite this record, he was released from ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) custody earlier this year. Cuba had reportedly refused to take him back, citing his criminal background, which left US authorities with little choice but to let him remain in the country.
Trump directly blamed President Joe Biden’s administration for what he called “incompetence” in handling the case. “This individual… was released back into our Homeland under incompetent Joe Biden because Cuba did not want such an evil person in their Country,” Trump alleged.
Community in shock
The Dallas community remains shaken by the gruesome killing. Nagamallaiah, who was affectionately known as “Bob,” was considered a respected figure in the area. The attack, carried out inside the Downtown Suites motel, has left his family devastated and raised questions over how someone with such a violent past was free to roam the streets.
The case is quickly turning into another flashpoint in America’s already heated immigration debate. Trump, who has consistently framed illegal immigration as a national security threat, is doubling down on his promise to tighten laws and punish offenders more severely.
