Ray-Ban Meta glasses are officially the world’s best-selling AI glasses, with millions sold since launch. Now Meta and Ray-Ban are rolling out the second generation, keeping the familiar style but adding some important upgrades.
Battery life nearly doubles
The Gen 2 model addresses one of the biggest complaints about the original: stamina. A full charge now lasts up to eight hours of typical use, nearly double Gen 1. Quick charging gets you to 50% in just 20 minutes, while the bundled case holds another 48 hours of juice — enough for long festivals or weekend trips without hunting for a plug.
3K video and new capture modes
Meta has also pushed video quality forward. The new glasses shoot in 3K Ultra HD at up to 60fps, with ultrawide HDR and more than twice the pixels of the earlier version. Later this year, users will also get hyperlapse and slow-motion modes, extending their use beyond casual clips into creative territory.
AI upgrades and real-world use
One standout feature coming soon is conversation focus: the glasses will amplify the voice of the person you’re speaking with while reducing background noise. That’s a big step toward making open-ear audio practical in cafes, restaurants, or outdoor settings.
Translation is expanding too. German and Portuguese are now supported, joining four existing languages. Conversations can work offline as long as you download language packs first.
Global rollout and style options
Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) is expanding to new markets, including Switzerland and the Netherlands, with Brazil next. Style hasn’t been ignored either — the lineup spans classics like the Wayfarer, Skyler, and Headliner, plus three new seasonal colours.
The updated glasses start at $379, cementing Meta’s bet that AI wearables can move beyond niche gadget to everyday accessory.
