Japanese video game creator Hideo Kojima recently revealed the teaser trailer of the horror game his studio, Kojima Productions, is working on. The horror title is called “OD - Knock” and will be playable in first person. Kojima revealed the trailer for the in-development horror game during the “Beyond The Strand” event and stated during the livestream that he is afraid of loud knocking sounds.
In the OD - Knock trailer, we see the game character played by US actress Sophia Lillis (It, It: Chapter Two, I Am Not Okay With This, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves) in a seemingly empty house while it is raining outside. Someone or something knocks on the main door of the house and slips a strange card through a crack. On the front of the card is a grotesque face, while the back reads: “Light the fires to celebrate their ….”.
She then goes to another room to light up a bunch of candles near a closed window (the candles are organised in a ritualistic setup) while a knocking sound echoes throughout the house. After some time, the door of the room in which she is trying to light up the candles using matchsticks opens, and a mysterious, supernatural entity enters. Kojima had first announced OD in 2023 by bringing out director Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us, Nope) on stage during The Game Awards. Both were supposed to be working on a horror project called OD for Xbox Game Studios. For the OD project, Sophia Lillis and Hunter Schafer (Euphoria) were already confirmed. However, the newly revealed game is “OD - Knock” and it might just be the first of the OD games since Kojima reportedly said during the “Beyond The Strand” event (courtesy, IGN) that "there is a different kind of fear [Peele] will do. Mine is the knock."
Going by Kojima's statement, it seems like Jordan Peele will come up with his own OD project. In fact, OD could be a series of video games based on different fears.
For OD - Knock, Kojima Productions has partnered with Xbox Game Studios.
