Apple unveiled the lineup for its annual Worldwide Developers Conference, including Keynote and Platforms State of the Union. The free online conference brings the global Apple developer community together to provide them with insights into the latest technologies, tools, and frameworks coming to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS.
The five-day long event — starts on June 10 — will kickoff with the keynote address. Apple CEO Tim Cook and other senior executives are expected to unveil new features coming to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS. The Keynote address will be available to stream on Apple’s official website, the Apple Developer app, the Apple TV app, and the Apple YouTube channel.
WWDC — being a developer conference — will have over 100 technical sessions released throughout the week. It will offer developers a chance to hear from Apple engineers, designers, and other experts to get a better idea about the latest technological tools Apple plans to unveil.
Also, as part of the Swift Student Challenge, 50 winners have been recognised for outstanding submissions and will visit Apple Park for a three-day experience with special activities throughout the week of WWDC.
At WWDC 2024, Apple will also announce the winners of Apple Design awards, which celebrate excellence in app and game design and highlight the craft, creativity, and technical expertise that developers bring to their work.
Apple’s focus at WWDC is likely to be on AI-powered features coming to iPhone, iPad and Mac. Rumours have been rife about Apple announcing a slew of new AI features at WWDC. It has also been suggested that Apple could announce that it is working with OpenAI to bring ChatGPT-powered features to its devices.
