Apple wrapped up its iPhone launch in September, but attention is now turning to the possibility of another event in October 2025. Historically, Apple has often used the October window to introduce new Macs, iPads, and accessories. While the company did not host events in October 2022 and 2024—opting instead for press releases—it did stage major launches in 2021 and 2023. This year, reports suggest a higher likelihood of an October showcase, with several products on the horizon.
Past October events
Apple’s October history shows a mixed pattern. In 2021, the company unveiled MacBook Pro models with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, AirPods 3, and new HomePod mini colors. Two years later, in 2023, Apple hosted its Scary Fast event to reveal MacBook Pro and iMac models with M3 chips. In contrast, October 2022 and 2024 were reserved for press releases announcing updated iPads, Macs, and Apple TV models.
Expected products in 2025
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iPad Pro powered by Apple’s upcoming M5 chip is likely to be announced this year, positioning it as a strong candidate for the October stage. The new iPad Pro is also rumored to feature dual front cameras for both portrait and landscape orientations.
The Vision Pro could also see an upgrade, with reports pointing to a faster M4 or M5 chip, a redesigned head strap for better comfort, and a possible Space Black finish.
Apple’s accessory lineup is also due for refreshes. A new Apple TV could arrive with the A17 Pro or N1 chip, bringing Wi-Fi 7 support and future compatibility with Apple Intelligence features. The HomePod mini is tipped to gain a newer S-series chip, improved sound quality, a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, and potentially fresh color options. AirTag is also in line for an upgrade, expected to deliver longer tracking range, improved durability, and clearer battery alerts.
What about the Mac lineup?
While MacBook Pro models with M5 series chips are reportedly entering production soon, most sources suggest they may not debut until early 2026. Future Mac updates such as an OLED display and slimmer designs are also believed to be in development, making a January or 2026 launch more likely. The long-rumored lower-cost MacBook and next-generation Studio Display are similarly expected in late 2025 or early 2026.
