As for the on-field action, AB de Villiers delivered a vintage performance, smashing an unbeaten 120 off just 60 deliveries to guide South Africa Champions to a commanding nine-wicket victory and their first-ever WCL title.
Earlier, Pakistan Champions skipper Mohammad Hafeez won the toss and elected to bat. Sharjeel Khan top-scored with 76, taking the team to 195/5 in their 20 overs. South Africa’s bowlers Wayne Parnell and Hardus Viljoen chipped in with two wickets each, helping restrict the total.

In response, South Africa chased down the target with ease, thanks largely to de Villiers' masterclass at the crease.
In a major update following the tournament’s conclusion, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a ban on the Shahid Afridi-led side from participating in future editions of the WCL. The decision reportedly stems from the India Champions' refusal to face Pakistan during the competition.
