Virat Kohli, the iconic Indian batsman, has garnered global acclaim beyond his homeland. The United States proudly joined his international fan base by unveiling a life-size statue of the charismatic batsman at New York's Times Square.

Kohli's reliability extends not only to his pivotal role in Team India's T20 World Cup 2024 lineup but also to his stature as one of cricket's greats over the past decade. A widely circulated video on social media captures Kohli's larger-than-life presence as a player immortalised in a statue at Times Square, New York.

This initiative was brought to life through Kohli's enduring partnership as a brand ambassador for the mattress company Duroflex. Dubbed the "King" by his fans, Duroflex proudly announced on Twitter: "Just Unveiled: A larger-than-life statue of Virat Kohli at the iconic Times Square. This King's Duty, we are going global and making history! We’re delivering great sleep and great health to Virat Kohli."

Fans flooded the comments, hailing Kohli as the "GOAT" (Greatest of All Time), reflecting their overwhelming support for the cricket superstar.

Virat Kohli's commendable form continued as India secured qualification into the Super 8 stage. Despite concerns over rain, the game started on time after Australia won the toss and opted to bowl first. India beat Australia by 24 runs to enter the semis of the World Cup. This match marks the first encounter between the two sides since India's loss to Australia in the ODI World Cup Final.

Speculation within the cricket community suggests that former Indian captain and current T20 captain Rohit Sharma may retire from international T20 cricket after this World Cup, potentially concluding a remarkable era for this formidable duo.
