The current Indian Premier League (IPL) season is seeing Virat Kohli set yet more records. The standout batsman for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru added yet another feather to his already impressive IPL career. As the most prolific scorer in IPL history and the only player to surpass 8000 runs, Kohli became the first player to reach 1000 boundaries in the competition.
He reached the milestone at Thursday's IPL 2025 match between the RCB and the Delhi Capitals at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Kohli is way ahead of other batsmen with most boundaries, leading Shikhar Dhawan (920), David Warner (899), Rohit Sharma (885) in the tally.

Kohli slammed 2 sixes and a four for his 14-ball 22 before he was dismissed by DC’s Vipraj Nigam. Kohli now has 721 fours and 279 sixes in his vast IPL career. But RCB crashed to their second successive defeat at home and Delhi Capitals (DC) remained the only unbeaten side in this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a 6-wicket victory.
DC chased down the 164-run victory target with more than 2 overs to spare riding on unbeaten knocks by KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs.
Rahul struck 6 sixes and 7 fours in his unbeaten 93-run knock that came off 53 balls and he finished off the match in style by hitting the winning shot off Yash Dayal that went for a six.
Tristan Stubbs played the perfect foil to Rahul’s match-winning knock as he remained unbeaten after a 23-ball 38 with the help of a six and 4 fours. Stubbs smashed Suyash Sharma for a four and a six in an over to put DC in complete control of the run chase.
