Juhi Chawla: Watching IPL matches with Shah Rukh Khan is 'not good' when KKR is not performing well

After Darr, Juhi Chawla Mehta and Shah Rukh Khan's most thrilling co-appearance is perhaps if they turn up for Indian Premier League (IPL) matches and events together. The Bollywood mega stars are co-owners of IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). News agency IANS recently quoted Juhi Chawla as saying: “IPL is always exciting. We all are in front of our television sets when our team plays. It is interesting to watch them, and we all are highly tense (during the match).” However, Juhi Chawla, who has acted with Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) in films from Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman to Yes Boss, added that SRK "vents out his anger" on her if their IPL team isn't doing so well.

This, of course, would not have been an issue following the latest IPL match between the Delhi Capitals and KKR, at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on April 3, which KKR won by 106 runs! Sunil Narine's 39-ball 85 including seven boundaries and seven sixes (c Rishabh Pant b Mitchell Marsh), Angkrish Raghuvanshi's knock of 54 in 27 deliveries (c Ishant Sharma b Anrich Nortje) and big hitter Andre Russell's 19-ball 41 (b Ishant Sharma) would have given SRK much to cheer and little to vent about.

Bollywood and the IPL have had a close connection since the inaugural edition of IPL. And Shah Rukh Khan has been among the more consistent stars to attend their team matches. SRK was in Hyderabad for yesterday's high scoring match against the Delhi Capitals. He had also travelled to Kolkata for KKR's first IPL 2024 match in Eden Gardens, on March 23 - KKR had also won on that occasion, beating the Sunrisers Hyderabad by four runs.

Kolkata Knight Riders has lifted the IPL trophy twice previously: in 2012 and 2014. In the current season, KKR has won 100 percent of the matches it has played so far, and is currently at the No. 1 spot on the IPL 2024 Points Table with six points and a phenomenal net run rate of +2.518.
