After Washington Sundar gave India a much-needed breakthrough in the second session of Day 4 of the Lord's Test against England, India's head coach Gautam Gambhir was unable to control his emotions. Joe Root, the star batsman, had to walk back after making 40 runs as Sundar encircled his legs. Gambhir couldn't contain his joy after the middle-order star batter was dismissed, and he hurled a mouthful from the balcony of the Lord's Cricket Ground.
Gambhir's response was hardly surprising, considering Root had previously escaped a near-miss after a Mohammed Siraj delivery wrapped him on the pads and on-field referee Paul Reiffel didn’t raise his finger. India opted for a review, but the replays upheld the on-field decision as umpire's call.

Root helped England to a fine total by scoring a century in the first innings. Gambhir, however, was unable to contain his joy as Sundar gave India the much-needed breakthrough.
Sundar broke the partnership between Stokes and the former England captain for the fifth wicket on the fourth ball of the 43rd over, cleaning up Root bowling him behind his legs.

The ball slipped past Root's bat and drifted in, clattering into the leg-stump. Root scored 40 runs, including one four, off 96 balls.
A few minutes later, Washington Sundar claimed his second wicket by rattling the stumps of Jamie Smith, another batter who was in form. The England wicketkeeper scored 8 runs off 14 balls before strolling back to the hut.
