Thiruvananthapuram: President Droupadi Murmu is set to visit the sacred Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa Temple on October 22, marking the final day of the Thulamasa Pooja darshan. The visit, which holds great spiritual significance, will be part of her official tour of Kerala.
President to Offer Prayers at Sabarimala Temple
Kerala Devaswom Minister V N Vasavan confirmed that the state government has been officially informed about the President’s visit. As per the schedule, President Murmu will offer prayers at the revered hill shrine in the evening hours of October 22, before traveling back to Thiruvananthapuram later in the day.
Part of a Multi-Event Kerala Visit
During her stay in Kerala, the President will also attend the platinum jubilee celebrations of St. Thomas College in Pala, a historic educational institution known for its academic excellence. The minister mentioned that the President’s itinerary is being finalised, and extensive preparations are underway to ensure a smooth and secure visit.
Sabarimala Temple Opens for Thulamasa Pooja
The Sabarimala temple, nestled deep within the Periyar Tiger Reserve forests, opens its doors to devotees only on specific occasions each month. For the Thulamasa Pooja, the temple will remain open from October 18 to 22, allowing pilgrims to seek the blessings of Lord Ayyappa.
President Murmu’s upcoming visit is expected to be a moment of reverence and devotion for devotees across the country. As the first woman from the tribal community to become President of India, her presence at one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage sites adds a special meaning to this sacred occasion.
