NASA astronaut Sunita Williams, who returned to Earth after spending more than nine months in space, shared a heartwarming video of her reunion with her pet dogs on Tuesday.
Williams, who had previously expressed her eagerness to reunite with her Labrador retrievers, captioned the video: "Best homecoming ever!"
The footage showed her two dogs enthusiastically jumping around her, wagging their tails excitedly. The pure joy and unwavering affection displayed by her pets quickly gained attention on social media.
Among those who reacted to the video was Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who left a heart emoji in the comments section.

Williams, along with fellow astronaut Butch Wilmore, returned to Earth on March 18, 2025 aboard SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft, which splashed down in the sea off the coast of Tallahassee, Florida. The unexpected extension of their mission had made the reunion with her family and pets even more special.
While in space, Williams had spoken about the challenges of an extended mission, stating that one of the hardest parts was the long wait to see her family again.
She had also expressed her excitement about reuniting with her dogs, saying she “could not wait” to be back home with them.
Following her return, Williams spoke to the media in Houston, sharing her experiences of readjusting to Earth’s environment after months in microgravity.
“It’s great getting back. I went for a run – although very slow,” she said in an interview.
She described the simple yet profound experience of being back on solid ground, adding: “Just felt good to feel the air, even though it was humid air, like blowing past you, and seeing other people on the track, it’s really nice. It’s home.”
During the media briefing, Williams also spoke about her connection to India, her father’s homeland. She described how spectacular the country looked from space and expressed her desire to visit soon.
“India is amazing from space,” she remarked, adding that she hoped to travel there and share her experiences about space exploration with people.
