A video of a stampede-like situation outside a firm in Hyderabad that had invited applicants for a walk-in interview is viral on social media. The clip shows a crowd of job seekers clamouring outside the gate of the campus, with documents in hand, as the security guards tried to control them while another crowd of candidates entered the building.
The video received more than 3.4 million views.

Moneycontrol could not independently verify the authenticity of the clip, but it generated a discussion on employment, especially with industry leaders and experts debating 70-hour work weeks for professionals in the country.
"Back in 2015, I faced the same when I didn't get college placements in a tier-3 college. For a complete month, I had gone through this in so many tech parks in Bengaluru. It was a struggle. I repeat, it was an absolute struggle," wrote senior software developer Vivek Naskar (@vivek_naskar).
"Not all have campus interviews; 17 years ago I did the same in Bangalore. It was a lot more hectic. After selection, I worked long hours to make sure I delivered on time and learned new things. Now I can say, it is worth it. No need for pity, it is what it is," commented Niranjan (@YNPra).
Another user Aditya Nandode (@TaiyouSun) said, "Walk-in interviews are not possible to be conducted now; a minimum criteria has to be applied; else, people will appear in hordes, and there will be chances of stampede."
"Terrible. The condition of unemployment is just terrible, and above that when people go crazy for walk-in interviews like this, no company will conduct these interviews then," said Kushagra Wadhwa (@Kushagraw12), a software engineer at Samsung.
