Jailed conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, accused in a Rs 200 crore extortion case, has sent a legal notice to singer Mika Singh over his comment on actor Jacqueline Fernandez’s pic.
According to Times of India, Hollywood legend Jean-Claude Van Damme shared a picture with Jacqueline Fernandez on his Instagram accounts. “You are looking so beautiful… he is much better than #sukesh,” Mika wrote in the comments section.
The singer later deleted the comment, but Sukesh Chandrashekhar has now served him with a legal notice.
The legal notice filed by Sukesh's lawyer stated that Mika's comment has “triggered extensive public discourse about our client's character and personality, subjecting him to a de factor trial by media.”
The TOI report further said that Chandrashekhar’s team has accused Mika of tarnishing his image which has adversely affected his personal and professional life. The legal team has sought an unconditional apology from Mika Singh. It has urged the singer from making any more false and defamatory statements.
“The situation is exacerbating his existing distress and poses significant challenges due to relentless media scrutiny,” the legal notice said.
Sukesh Chandrashekhar is currently lodged in Tihar Jail. He maintains that he was in a romantic relationship with Jacqueline Fernandez, who has been named a co-accused by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case against Chandrashekhar.
Chandrashekhar had gifted several expensive items to the actor, which were seized by the ED. These included a horse worth Rs 52 lakh, designer bags from Gucci and Chanel, diamond jewellery, a Rolex watch and more.
