A video of a man making “diesel parantha” at a dhaba in Chandigarh kicked up a storm on social media on Tuesday and sparked major health concerns among social media users. Amid the backlash, owner Channi Singh denied all claims of such an item being sold at Bablu Vaishno Dhaba and said that the food blogger recorded the clip for fun.
“We neither make any such thing as 'diesel paratha' nor serve any such thing to customers. A blogger had made that video just for fun. It is common sense that nobody would consume a paratha prepared in diesel nor is it cooked like that. I didn't know that the video was going viral, I came to know only yesterday,” Singh told ANI.
“The blogger in question has deleted it and apologised to the people. We use only edible oil. We provide hygienic food to people here. We also supply langar from here. We don't play with people's lives,” he added. “We also eat this food,” Singh further quoted to ANI.

The video swiftly gained traction on the internet and social media users were quick to tag The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) while retweeting the clip or commenting on it.
A section of the internet was absolutely disgusted and termed it as "cancer parantha" while slamming the eatery for following such unhygienic cooking practices.
"At least he wore a cap on his head so there’s no hair in the cancer paratha," one user wrote. Another user commented, "He will be buying Ferrari soon & his customer will be selling their house & cars soon to fund the treatment of cancer."
"I don't think it's diesel or petrol, but whatever it is, it's definitely not fit for human consumption," another person added.
