Google co-founder Larry Page is now world’s second-richest person. His net worth is...

Larry Page’s fortune shot up by $8.7 billion on Monday. The primary driver of his wealth surge was his 3.2 percent stake in Alphabet.

Google co-founder Larry Page has surged past Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison to claim the title of the world’s second-richest person, as Alphabet’s stock continues its AI-driven rally. Page's current net worth is estimated to be $255 billion, as per Forbes. Elon Musk remains at the top with an estimated net worth of $475.5 billion.

Page’s fortune climbed by $8.7 billion on Monday. The leap follows a remarkable five-year trajectory: from $50.9 billion in 2020 to $144 billion at the start of 2025, and now a quarter-trillion milestone. Page, who cofounded Google with Sergey Brin in 1998, holds a 3.2 percent stake in Alphabet, which has been the primary driver of his wealth surge.

Alphabet shares have rallied 67 percent buoyed by strong third-quarter earnings and the release of Google’s Gemini 3 AI model. Last week alone, the stock jumped nearly 6 percent in early trading before settling at a 3.3 percent gain by mid-afternoon. That spike added $7.6 billion to Page’s fortune and $7 billion to Brin’s, who now ranks fourth globally with $236.4 billion—overtaking Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ($235.1 billion).

Ellison, who briefly became the second person in history to cross the $400 billion mark earlier this year, has seen his wealth slide to $248.8 billion as Oracle shares plunged 43 percent following a September peak. The drop contrasts sharply with Alphabet’s sustained momentum, underscoring how AI optimism is reshaping tech fortunes.

Founded by Page and Brin as Stanford PhD students in 1998, Google has evolved from a search engine into a global tech powerhouse, with AI now at the center of its growth strategy. The Gemini 3 model launch has reinforced investor confidence, positioning Alphabet as a frontrunner in the AI arms race.
