    'Dunki': Masterpiece to average Rajkumar Hirani film, Shah Rukh Khan-starrer gets mixed reviews

    Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Dunki' received mixed reviews from social media users on X. While some called it a 'masterpiece', others were not that impressed and termed it 'average'.

    'Dunki' opened to mixed reviews by the masses.

    Shah Rukh Khan-starrer “Dunki” has finally hit theatres and fans absolutely can’t keep calm. The film directed by Rajkumar Hirani collected over Rs 15 crore in advance bookings only and the excitement around it is simply unbeatable. A hoard of fans thronged theatres to watch the much-anticipated movie, sprayed confetti, danced to dhol beats and “Lutt Putt Gaya” inside halls.

    Now, it is obviously time for reviews and there were plenty of those shared by cinema-goers. X was flooded with reactions that ranged from impressed to not so impressed. With that, #DunkiReview and #SRK'sDisasterDonkey, both booked top spots on X's trending list.

    While some people called the movie a “masterpiece”, others were disappointed and termed it as an “average flick”.

    “A perfect family entertainment movie after so long. Rajkumar Hirani and SRK cooked it amazingly. It's an entertaining film with a strong message,” a user wrote.

    Another user commented, “Please avoid. Old Hindi serial drama. Headache comedy scenes. 2 scenes well-written, remaining totally disappointed. Weakest work from Hirani.”

    Meanwhile, a video of a fan dressed as Khan’s character Hardy surfaced online. The man was wearing a blue kurta with a sweater, exactly like the actor. He also enacted a scene from the film while several fans who had gathered around were chanting “Dunki” with fervour.


    The man caught the attention of everyone around him and even Khan’s who reacted to the clip and wrote, “Arre ab picture dekhne toh jao ya bahar hi kushti karte rahoge. Go in see the movie and tell me if u all enjoyed it.”

    Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, “Dunki” stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani, among others. The film is produced by Rajkumar Hirani and Gauri Khan and was written by Abhijat Joshi, Hirani and Kanika Dhillon.
