Anand Mahindra, on Wednesday, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a picture of Anirudh Kohli, CEO of Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, driving an auto-rickshaw. It was not just any autorickshaw but the Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, an electric three-wheeler.
According to Mahindra, Kohli loved the e-autorickshaw and messaged him saying, “My new acquisition from your stable! Loving the electric autorickshaw.” In the picture shared by the Mahindra Group Chairman, Kohli was seen driving it on the streets of Alibag, Mumbai, with his wife sitting in the back.
The industrialist also mentioned how Alibag homeowners are starting to adopt new and sustainable transport solutions and opting for the e-autorickshaw as their personal means of commuting.
“Anirudh led his hospital’s fight against the pandemic. Now he and other Alibag homeowners like Rajesh Sachdev (see link below) are starting a new, benign pandemic by evangelizing modest, but sustainable transport solutions in their serene weekend neighbourhoods. Three-wheelers as personal transport may just be a new trend—and we’re not complaining!” Mahindra wrote in the caption of the post.

Social media users were intrigued and appreciated the environment-friendly three-wheeler in the comments section.
“Hope many others follow this footsteps, we went to Puri last month and felt very happy seeing six seater e-rickshaws,” a user wrote. Another user commented, “Pandemic heroes saving the planet, one zip-zoom at a time!”
“I would love to and prefer driving around in such vehicles,” a third user remarked. A fourth user added, “When health meets climate.”
