Days after cinema-goers in Chandigarh found dead cockroaches in their sandwiches, a resident of Bengaluru also spotted a cockroach in the food that he was eating at a local restaurant. The person shared pictures of their meal on Reddit and the post has gone viral online.
The post was shared by a user account @Long-Creme-8925. The images featured a lifeless cockroach buried under some rice that the person was having at a restaurant called “Zamindar” in Bengaluru’s Kalyan Nagar. They also claimed that the eatery's staff did nothing even after complaining.
The Reddit user encircled the unsettling site and wrote, “Please help me bring this place down. I visited Zamindar today (Kalyan Nagar) There was a roach in the chicken piece. Upon complaining the staff did nothing. What should I do?”

Needless to say, the person’s post grabbed a lot of eyeballs and several comments from Reddit users. While some people gave suggestions, others expressed their opinions about “outside” food.
“You can complain and give negative reviews. That's all you can do. Just so you know, I did a hygiene test on many 5* to 0* food places took me 2.5 yrs. Most of them are not up to the basic standards. If you see their kitchen and how they prepare the food, you'll never EVER go eat outside food. Health is the only wealth nobody can steal from you. So protect it with care. Best wishes,” a user wrote.
Another user commented, “People pay top dollar to eat 5* stale Food. Just because food is HOT doesn't mean the food is fresh. People are so gullible and don't know the food industries tactics.
Non veg food is on another level.”
“Their food license won't be affected. You can choose to not pay money for the food and go away. This is India. There is no hygiene inspector here. They expect u to eat cockroach if u can eat chicken,” a third user remarked.
A fourth user mentioned another bad experience from the same restaurant. “Wait really? Friend got Mutton Biryani from here last night and today morning I was throwing up like crazy. I thought it's change in weather and water,” they wrote.
Meanwhile, cinema enthusiasts in Chandigarh were greeted by an unpleasant situation after finding cockroaches in their sandwiches. The incident happened at the Piccadilly Square Mall in Chandigarh’s sector 34.
According to a report in The Indian Express, the people had purchased sandwiches and a burger for Rs 550 on Tuesday.
