Adobe's Generative AI Firefly is now available commercially for everyone

Following months of beta testing, Adobe has announced that their Generative AI, Firefly, is now available to everyone on Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Express, and Adobe Experience Cloud.

  • The company is launching a standalone Firefly web app that will allow users to try out its features for free, without needing a subscription to their Creative suite of products.
  • The free accounts will be limited to 25 monthly generative credits, which Adobe describes as, "tokens that enable customers to turn a text-based prompt into image and vector creations in Photoshop, Illustrator, Express, and the Firefly web application". Basically, think of it as having 25 text-prompts per month to generate content.

Such an initiative on the country’s part in the wake of the successful G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Summit will ensure that a middle ground can be reached more easily on an oversight mechanism for AI technologies that is acceptable to all stakeholders, according to the opinion piece.

  • India being more assertive on global AI-related discussions could, moreover, ensure that the talks take cognizance of the impact that AI deployment could have on societies, especially in developing countries.
  • Although ranked 14th overall in the Global AI Index, India is rated at the second position on the talent front (behind the US). India’s overall ranking was dented by the low ranking assigned to it on infrastructure.

Amazon launches AI tool that generates product listings for sellers

The company points out that their LLMs can use logical reasoning to infer the shape of an object based on the listed specifications.

  • Amazon says that sellers will only, "need to provide a brief description of the product", and then the AI will take over, and generate a listing for them. Sellers will have the option to refine and edit these listings.
  • Amazon says it has already tested the feature with a number of sellers, and early feedback, "indicates that the majority of those sellers are directly using the listing content the AI model creates for them".
