DIAL, the airport operator, also requested the government to work with all stakeholders to provide a timeline for the upgrade and called for better coordination between airlines, Airports Authority of India and air traffic control to minimise disruptions during that time.

DIAL plans to enhance connectivity with the Asia Pacific region, specifically targeting Australia and New Zealand.
