The Centre’s key jobs portal went live on August 18 as the central government seeks to incentivise employment generation and provide a boost to the country’s consumption story.
The portal was officially launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15 from the Red Fort on the occasion of 79th Independence Day celebrations, the report said.
The scheme will provide an aid Rs 15,000 to youths getting private jobs for the first time and also provide benefits to the employers for employment generation.
The Union Cabinet had approved the Employment-Linked Incentive Scheme on July 1, 2025 with an outlay of nearly Rs 1 lakh crore.
Under this scheme, the government aims to incentivise creation of over 3.5 crore jobs in the next two years between August 1, 2025 to July 31, 2027.

"The government is launching today, August 15, Rs 1 lakh crore Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana, under which the government will provide Rs 15,000 to youths getting jobs in private companies. It is expected to provide jobs to about 3.5 crore youth," said PM Modi while addressing the nation from the Red Fort on August 15, 2025.
The scheme is likely to benefit 1.92 crore first timers entering the jobs market and the first installment will be paid after at least 6 months of service, a report by News18 said.
The announcement also comes just a few months ahead of the crucial Bihar elections, where the jobs have become a major political issue.
How to register
-Employers can now visit Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojna portal (https://pmvbry.epfindia.gov.in or https://pmvbry.labour.gov.in) and complete one-time registration process.
-All first timers have to generate UAN, through Face Authentication Technology (FAT) available on UMANG App.
