The 27-year-old accused are being held in separate barracks at the Meerut District Jail, where officials have taken extra precautions to prevent any self-harm or harm to others due to their drug dependency.

A jail official, speaking to Hindustan Times on the condition of anonymity, described their addiction as extreme. Muskan and Sahil have reportedly been regular users of injectable drugs, leading to severe withdrawal symptoms inside the prison.

Muskan, along with her lover Sahil, was arrested for the gruesome murder of her husband, Saurabh Rajput, on March 4. The duo allegedly stabbed him, dismembered his body, and concealed the remains in a cement-filled drum. After committing the crime, they fled to Himachal Pradesh, where they reportedly celebrated by playing Holi, cutting a cake, and posing for pictures in the snow before returning to Meerut on March 17.

Following their arrest, both were sent to judicial custody, where Muskan’s health quickly deteriorated on the first night. Jail doctors diagnosed her with severe drug addiction and began immediate treatment. Meanwhile, Sahil reportedly caused a disturbance inside the facility, demanding drugs. According to sources cited by Hindustan Times, he exhibited extreme restlessness without marijuana, while Muskan sought morphine injections.
