BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia criticized Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal following his conditional bail, calling him a "Bail Wala CM" and urging him to resign. The AAP chief was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on June 26 in connection with the liquor policy case. The ED had on March 21 arrested Kejriwal. He was granted bail in the ED case but is yet to get relief in the case filed by CBI.

Since his arrest in March, Kejriwal has been running the Delhi government from jail. The AAP convenor refused to quit as the chief minister of Delhi and decided to discharge his responsibilities from Tihar jail. The decision drew widespread criticism from BJP. The saffron party asked AAP to explain how Kejriwal was running the government from jail. It also demanded a list of decisions taken by him in the last five months.

Manish Sisodia, the former Delhi deputy chief minister and AAP No.2, was one of the first high-profile party leaders to be arrested in the case. He was granted bail by the apex court after nearly 17 months in jail. The top court had said that Sisodia suffered a long incarceration of 17 months and trial hasn’t even begun. The top court said "he has been deprived of his right to a speedy trial". The bail to Sisodia raised AAP's hopes that Kejriwal may also get relief soon.

Kejriwal has filed two petitions, one challenging the denial of bail and another against the upholding of his arrest by the CBI in the case.

The Supreme Court is set to pronounce its verdict on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's bail plea on Friday. Kejriwal was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy. A bench led by Justice Surya Kant will announce the decision. A fire at the 400 kV Manali Substation on Thursday night left around 10 lakh homes in North and Central Chennai without power. The outage, caused by an electrical trip around 9 pm, impacted key areas including Periyamedu, Egmore, and Triplicane. TANGEDCO officials, led by chairman Rajesh Lakhani, rushed to the site to restore power, and fire teams were deployed to control the blaze. The US State Department has imposed sanctions on several China-based entities for their role in supplying Pakistan’s ballistic missile program. According to a statement by spokesperson Matthew Miller, five entities and one individual were sanctioned under missile proliferation laws, including the Beijing Research Institute of Automation for Machine Building Industry (RIAMB). RIAMB was targeted for its collaboration with Pakistan’s National Development Complex (NDC), which the US believes is involved in the development of long-range ballistic missiles in Pakistan.

US President Joe Biden will host the fourth in-person Quad Leaders Summit at his Delaware home on September 21, welcoming Prime Ministers Anthony Albanese, Narendra Modi, and Kishida Fumio. Originally set to be held in India, the summit will take place there in 2024 instead.
