The Arvi constituency assembly is one of the 288 Assembly constituencies in the western state of Maharashtra, which is headed for polls on November 20. Arvi is located in Wardha district.

Arvi Assembly Constituency demographics

Arvi constituency which has 1119411 registered voters, including 566263 male voters, 553133 female voters, and 15 third gender voters, as per reports.

It is going to be a two-way battle in Arvi as NCP (SP) fielded Mayura Kale, wife of Wardha NCP (SP) MP Amar Kale. She will be pitted against BJP's Sumit Wankhede, former PA of Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Arvi Assembly Election Results 

In the 2019 Assembly elections in Maharashtra, BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) reached a majority to form the government. BJP's  Dadarao Keche won with 49.3 percent vote share. He defeated Amar Sharadrao Kale who got 42.3 percent vote share. Around 1400 votes were NOTA.

Soon after, Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena quit the NDA and joined hands with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Indian National Congress (INC) to form - the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), which went on to form the government. Uddhav then became the chief minister of Maharashtra.

Then, in June 2022, Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde split from the party alongwith majority MLAs and joined hands with BJP leading to a collapse of the MVA government. Shinde then became the CM from the Mahayuti alliance. In 2024, NCP leader Ajit Pawar split from the party and MVA alliance and joined Mahayuti. Pawar then became the deputy CM of the state.

Arvi Assembly Constituency Election Date 2024

Polls in Maharashtra will be held in a single phase for all 288 seats. Arvi assembly constituency will vote on November 20. Counting of votes will be held on November 23.
