The Haryana government is set to conduct plot draws for 9,000 poor families across state, under the Chief Minister’s Rural Housing Scheme–2 on Tuesday.
The draws will take place in 15 districts, including Bhiwani, Faridabad, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jhajjar, Kaithal, Karnal, Yamunanagar, Sonipat, Sirsa, Rohtak, Panipat, Nuh, Narnaul, and Kurukshetra.
According to officials, eligible families in 143 Gram Panchayats will receive 100-square-yard residential plots, while those in Mahagram Satnali and Malab will get 50-square-yard plots. The draws will be conducted at designated venues by the Deputy Commissioners and Chief Executive Officers of Zila Parishads.
Earlier, under the same scheme, 3,884 beneficiaries from 58 villages in Panchkula and 1,144 beneficiaries in Sector 23, Jagadhri, had been allotted interim ownership certificates. In the first phase, 15,256 families in 14 cities were allotted 30-yard plots worth Rs 1 lakh each under the Chief Minister’s Urban Housing Scheme.
Beneficiaries will also receive a subsidy of Rs 2.5 lakh for house construction under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban 2.0, while those in rural areas will be provided Rs 1.38 lakh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin. In addition, there is a provision of Rs 12,000 for toilet construction under the Swachh Bharat Mission and 90 days of unskilled labour under MNREGA.
So far, 69,150 houses have been constructed under PMAY-Gramin with an expenditure of Rs 579 crore, while 77,900 houses have been built in cities under PMAY-Urban, supported by Rs 1,650 crore in financial aid.
In the upcoming phase, plots will be distributed to 1.58 lakh applicants across 561 villages. Additionally, 15,000 urban families from 16 cities, including Charkhi Dadri, Hisar, Sirsa, Jhajjar, Fatehabad, Ambala, Rewari, Karnal, Jind, Palwal, and Rohtak, will soon receive affordable plots.
