Zeenat Aman responds to Mumtaz's remarks on her live-in advice; upholds professionalism amid differences

In a recent interview, veteran actress Zeenat Aman responded to comments made by her contemporary Mumtaz, addressing the latter's remarks about her advice on live-in relationships. Mumtaz had previously made comments suggesting that Zeenat Aman's views on live-in relationships were outdated and not reflective of contemporary society. In her response, Zeenat Aman expressed her disagreement with Mumtaz's comments and defended her stance on the matter.

Zeenat Aman emphasised in an interview with Hindustan Times that she does not engage in tearing down her colleagues and respects their opinions, even if they differ from her own. She clarified that her advice on live-in relationships was based on her personal experiences and beliefs, and she stands by her views on the subject. According to Zeenat Aman, her intention was not to criticise or judge others but to offer guidance based on her own life lessons.

The actress further highlighted the importance of mutual respect and understanding among colleagues in the film industry. She emphasised the need for unity and support within the industry, especially during challenging times.

Sharing her views, Mumtaz had said, "Zeenat should be careful with what she is advising. She has all of a sudden come into this huge social media popularity, and I can understand her excitement about sounding like a cool aunty. But giving advice that is counter to our moral values is not the solution to increasing your following. Aap Zeenat ko hi le lo misaal ke taur par (Take Zeenat for example)… She knew Mazhar Khan for years before marrying him. Her marriage was a living hell. She should be the last person doling out advice on relationships."

She claimed that Zeenat should be the last person to dole out relationship advice, as “her own marriage was a living hell.”
