PM Modi inaugurates 200-acre IIM-Jammu campus

• A Rs 500-crore, 200-acre state-of-the-art campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
• The government of India established IIM Jammu in Jammu and Kashmir in 2016 and its off-campus at Srinagar was inaugurated on January 24, 2020.

“As the students of Jammu and Kashmir used to venture outside their Union Territory for higher education, the vision unfolds today with the inauguration of IIM Jammu. The establishment of premier educational institutions like IIM Jammu exemplifies a transformative approach, bringing quality education closer to home and empowering the youth of Jammu and Kashmir on a national scale,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.

“The inauguration of IIM Jammu's permanent campus marks a monumental leap forward in our collective pursuit of fostering excellence in management education,” Dr Milind K Kamble, chairman of the board of governors, said. Kamble, a Padma Shri recipient, reiterated his vision of creating world-class infrastructure, affirming that the institute has made significant strides towards this goal and assured that in the times to come, the institute will continue to strive for academic excellence and overall institutional brilliance.

The government of India established IIM Jammu in Jammu and Kashmir in 2016 and its off-campus at Srinagar was inaugurated on January 24, 2020. IIM Jammu has set high standards for outstanding value-based quality education, high-quality research, executive education, consultancy, and solid corporate and international linkages. IIM Jammu encourages contemporary research on regional, national, and global issues.
