Demonstrators gathered at Tesla dealerships across the United States, Europe, and Canada on Saturday, protesting against company chief Elon Musk, who has emerged as a key advisor to US President Donald Trump.
Waving signs with messages such as "Musk is stealing our money" and "Reclaim our country," the protests remained largely peaceful despite recent incidents of vandalism targeting Tesla vehicles—acts US officials have condemned as "terrorism."
In New York City, hundreds rallied outside Tesla’s Manhattan dealership, with some denouncing Musk’s growing political influence, while others called for the shutdown of his controversial Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which has been aggressively downsizing federal agencies.
The protest movement was organized by the environmental activist group Planet Over Profit, which argues that "stopping Musk will help save lives and protect democracy."
In Washington, D.C.’s Georgetown neighborhood, around 150 people gathered in a lively demonstration, with music and cheers as passing cars honked in support.
Similar protests were reported in Florida, Massachusetts, and California, as well as in European cities such as London, Berlin, and Paris. In Vancouver, Canada, around 100 people protested outside a Tesla dealership, including one demonstrator dressed in a dinosaur costume holding a sign that read, "You thought the Nazis were extinct? Don’t buy a Swasticar."
In Paris, a group of Americans joined the demonstration, holding signs such as "Send Musk to Mars now."
For weeks, Tesla dealerships and vehicles have been targeted in acts of vandalism, with protesters condemning both Musk’s mass layoffs and his political interventions.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi has labeled these attacks as "domestic terrorism," signaling a potential crackdown on anti-Tesla demonstrations.
Tesla has not issued an official response to the protests.
